The aspiration of i-Cities MOR is to be internationally recognised in social and technological innovation for modern cities and to identify and develop core research agenda and capabilities in the fundamental and advanced domains related to intelligent cities.

Cities residents in the world over want – and deserve – a good quality of life. They need good air to breathe, good water to drink and reliable electricity to power their lives. People need healthcare. They also need to be mobile – so transportation systems must be capable of transporting millions of people while putting as little strain as possible on the environment and city budgets. In other words, a good quality of life requires a well-functioning infrastructure.

Moreover, an effective infrastructure in turn contributes to economic prosperity, further improving quality of life. Unfortunately, the infrastructure in many cities lags behind the population’s needs – a major challenge for city governments in both emerging and industrialized nations. The research carried out by members of the MOR (Intelligent Cities) addresses these issues and challenges with solutions that will be able to improve the local economy, environment and quality of life in cities.

Math Quest is developed by Hezmedia Interactive Sdn Bhd in collaboration with MDeC and UTP. It is based on the Malaysian mathematics syllabus which is almost similar to other countries in the world. Math Quest has been developed using some of the learning theories and Role playing game for primary school students aged 9-12 years old in the topic of Numbers.

Eight mini games have been designed that are Mailbox Mania, Nail the Jackpot, Rock in Room, Chaos Store, Sword Force, Chop the Chunk, Pearl Voyage and Baa… Baa Bad Sheep. Each of these games is based on the different topics on numbers and consists of five difficulty levels. However, a player needs only to complete 3 levels in order to progress the game. This is to allow students of lower abilities to enjoy playing the gameS.

As an educational game, every mini game is preceded with the learning objective of the game. At the same time, tutorials are provided at the beginning of the games since all the scenarios in the game are different.

Among the Awards for Math Quest are:
