OVERVIEW & ASPIRATION

UniversitiTeknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has established Advanced Technology & Innovation Centre (ATIC™) as a ‘one-stop centre’ for the universityto provide for the needs of industry.  It is also seen as a ‘shop window’ to display its expertise and facilities to the outside world. ATIC™ integrates all the expertise and capabilities of UTP to cater for the needs of industry.

 

ATIC™ Roles:

  • Promote collaboration and establish strategic alliances with industry, academic and research institutions
  • Provide support to academics and researchers at UTP in dealing with industry and research organisations
  • Transfer of knowledge and technology between the University and external entities
  • Promote deployment and commercialization of IP through business collaboration and joint ventures through our commercialization and IP unit.

 

ATIC™ is established in line with the government policy that encourages transfer of knowledge and technology between universities and industries.  The Centre is set up at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), situated within the Klang Valley area to support collaboration between the University and external entities such as industry and government agencies.

 


Companies can be involved with ATIC™ at different levels by:

  • Helping to shape the range and breadth of the R&D and securing dedicated access to the facility and expertise at UTP by becoming a strategic partner;
  • Having access to research results and facilities by becoming a stakeholder; and
  • Sponsoring R&D and consultancy projects
